Whiskey, Beer, & Eats in Portage

Open since late 2023, Solarc is one of the newer breweries in LA—and one of the most unique, too. Rather than a typical line-up of IPAs and lagers, this Glassell Park brewery specializes in gruit, a medieval style of beer made with bittering agents other than hops. At Solarc, that means beer flavored with things like wormwood, black tea, and turmeric, and fermented with wild yeasts collected around Los Angeles. The whole operation is bordering on being a Portlandia sketch, but there’s no denying that hanging for a few hours in their quirky, colorful space (the walls are literally covered in aluminum foil) is a great way to spend a Sunday. This was the first time I've been here and it was really nice. We had brunch with the adult kids and they really loved the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar.

Located in an old 1940s-era airplane hangar, drinking at Paperback feels like you’re in line for Soarin’ Around The World at California Adventure, except the only ride here is sitting and relaxing for a few hours. Even during peak weekend hours, you’ll always be able to find an open table, and when you get hungry, you’ll find a food truck or two parked out front. This all-Belgian brewery in Torrance was one of the first places on the West Coast to kick off the hazy/juicy IPA craze, with every brewery from here to Seattle following suit. Expect a rotating roster of food trucks in the evening, and a large selection of cans available to-go. LA's massive craft beer wave of the 2010s has long subsided, but there are still plenty of great places to drink a local pint.

MONTHLY RAW BAR

The industrial space has a large interior with plenty of TVs, plus a giant wrap-around front patio ideal for getting a little red on a Saturday afternoon. They’ve got around 12 different beers on tap ranging from Belgian-style pilsners to a sour ale, but we tend to go for the Bigger Dreams, a hazy IPA with heavy notes of tangerine and grapefruit. If you’re looking for a quick drink before dinner, Creature Comforts is a great low-key option. If you’ve spent much time in the South Bay, you’ve probably driven past LA Ale Works' taproom in Hawthorne, a few blocks from SpaceX (and right across the street from another solid brewery, Common Space). Ale Works is a good spot to host a party when you don't know how many people will show up. The massive warehouse tends to be full of 30-somethings gathered to discuss cryptocurrency or watch sports, and there's a great collection of IPAs, lagers, stouts, and sours to carry everyone through the night.

One of the smallest breweries on this guide, Frogtown feels a bit like you’re hanging out in your friend’s garage, except there’s an industrial brewing set-up instead of an unused homebrew kit. The Lites Out pilsner is ideal if you’re there in the daytime (it’s only 4.1% ABV), but there's also a good selection of hazy and milkshake IPAs if you want to kick things up a bit in the evening. There's usually a food truck on-site most evenings, but you can also bring in food—on weekend afternoons our move is to walk over to Wax Paper right up the block for a post-pilsner sandwich. If you think you took a wrong turn and ended up in a warehouse yard, you’re at the right place. Boomtown Brewing is the most fun thing happening on this extra-industrial block of the Arts District, and somewhere you can fit a lot of people on a weekend afternoon. Between an alleyway and two giant warehouses, there’s plenty of seating.

Any place that sells marked-up bottles and bowls of olives can call itself a wine bar. Centre Street Tap House menu has been digitised by Sirved. The menu for Centre Street Tap House may have changed since the last user update. Sirved does not guarantee prices or the availability of menu items.

The beers here are brewed and poured in cask, which means robust flavors and little-to-no carbonation (it's a little odd to get used to, but quite tasty). There's a solid menu of bar snacks menu with things like burgers and wings to fish sandwiches and kimchi, all way better than they need to be. This is where you should be drinking hoppy pilsners before a Dodgers game. There are plenty of sprawling warehouse breweries in LA, but Browuerji West in San Pedro beats them all in square footage.

Benny Boy Brewing

If you haven't tried this gem in portage, then what are you waiting for?!?! Our Craft Burgers & BYOB “build your own” special burger menu offer vegetarian, vegan & gluten free options for all customers to enjoy. Select & create your own burger or choose from one of our delicious craft-made burger options, delicious appetizers or specialty fries with house-made sauces. At Centre Street Tap House, we take our food and beer seriously. We draw inspiration from both local and international pub food traditions to create our menus and execute each dish harmoniously with fresh and seasonal ingredients.

This brewery on the docks of Port of LA occupies a WWII-era naval warehouse so large it could host a regulation flag football game. Aside from the huge indoor taproom, there’s a big outdoor courtyard with food trucks and live music on weekends, and a marketplace selling local crafts across the street. Don’t miss the top-selling Dog Ate My Homework—a purplish, juicy blackberry saison—or Popfuji, a malty, refreshing unfiltered pilsner. Originally from Georgia, Creature Comforts is a Downtown brewery in the same complex as Rossoblu and Dama.

There’s no food inside, but there’s usually vendors selling pizza, tacos, and burgers out front. When it’s warm,  take advantage of outdoor picnic tables spread across the astroturf lawn. They also have a smaller tasting room in Culver City right next to the metro.

Most people come here to sip housemade IPAs and snack on masa-battered chicken wings during the day, but on Friday and Saturday nights, the dance floor is packed until 1am. Head there the next time you’re looking for a place to drink dry-hopped saisons and meet someone with a color-coordinated tote bag. Paperback Brewing has very good beer, especially if you’re a hazy IPA connoisseur, but the biggest reason we love this Glendale brewery is its space.

But hanging out in an LA brewery means more than just drinking good beer—it's about having a good time, too. From tiny tap rooms in the South Bay to sprawling warehouses in DTLA filled with games and dance floors, these are the 15 best breweries in LA. The giant patio is filled with wooden benches, tree stumps, and metal structures, achieving something that feels like a grown-up summer camp where people overuse the word "dude." Plus, food pop-ups operate most nights.

Expect nearly 20 beers on the menu including crisp rice lagers, fruity sours, and a tasty California IPA humorously called the Nose Job. You’ll also usually find some kind of entertainment happening at any given time, from ping pong to pool to the occasional live DJ set. Homage Brewing is for people who love good beer but also want to dance. There’s a pleasant patio out front where you might spot a couple of toddlers with their tattooed parents. But the real scene is inside the garage, which has a long bar, a disco ball, and (on weekends) a DJ spinning vinyl.

All Season Brewing in Mid-Wilshire is geographically central, making it an easy place to bring together people who live on opposite sides of the city. Which might also explain why this place is perpetually packed. Housed in a former car service station, All Season has indoor and outdoor seating, a row of skeeball machines, and a Chicas Taco window out back, so you don’t have to wander far for food. We also like that the short menu of draft beers is big on IPAs, including the citrusy Figure 8 that you can order by the pitcher.

Snap Thai Fish House Review Buckhead Atlanta

snap thai fish house photos

If you manage to grab a table within the tiny, usually crowded shop, we recommend take advantage of the extra surface area by ordering one of the Korean bingsu-inspired shaved iced desserts or one of the custard toasts, both of which come topped with gelato. Ruen Pair's menu spans from takeout classics to more obscure Thai-Chinese dishes and there's rarely a miss among them. The smell of wok-sizzled herbs and spices hits you as soon as you step inside—always a good sign—so it's not surprising our favorite dishes here tend to be stir-fried and/or deep-fried. Get the sauteed morning glory stems, the crispy catfish with basil, and an order of their sweet-spicy fried egg salad. Greetings from the most important Thai restaurant you might never have heard of.

The Best Restaurants In Koreatown

Eating at Wat Thai’s weekend food court feels like strolling through a busy street fair, except instead of kettle corn and churros you’re here for a wide range of fantastic Thai dishes. Every weekend, the Buddhist temple hosts foods vendors in its parking lot right on the border of Sun Valley and North Hollywood. On the menu is everything from mango sticky rice and BBQ beef skewers to spicy som tum and duck noodle soup, and the most popular stalls tend to  sell out by noon.

Atlanta events you won’t want to miss: April 26-May 1

The dining room will seat 84 with an indoor/outdoor bar welcoming an additional 27 guests, along with an open-air patio and a private dining room. Designed by Sasikan Supradith Na Ayuthaya of Bangkok, the black-and-gold coastal-themed restaurant is decorated with pieces from Thailand and fish traps hanging from the ceiling. Chef Pattie Lawlertratana not only has a flair for creating savory Thai dishes but also has a passion for crafting desserts.

Weekend Brunch

A second Atwater Village outpost with limited seating offers an expanded menu full of chef-driven dishes like grandma's fish and rice, shrimp aguachile and nam tok-style beef tataki. While you’re there, don’t neglect the spicy pork sausage and the spicy jackfruit salad, both brimming with fresh herbs. If you’re at a loss, feel free to ask for recommendations from the always-friendly chef-owner, “Nancy” Amphai Dunne, who’s happy to find dishes within your spice level tolerance.

But the best thing about this place might be the fact that the vibe is so neutral it doesn’t even exist. Grab a high-top table, let your legs swing freely, and dissolve into a perfect meal. It’s easy to wonder if the highest-rated restaurant on our site—and a place that’s been the subject of national awards, heady think pieces, and reservation waitlists—is worth the hassle of getting in. Dinner here is more than just a meal—it’s an all-out experience highlighted by deep family heritage, dedication to sourcing and sustainability, and dining in the only alleyway in the Valley you’d want to be seen in after 10pm. One of the oldest Thai restaurants in town, Chao Krung has provided delicious, everyday fare since 1976. Now in the care of second-generation chef Amanda Kuntee, a tighter menu has placed small plates and curries front and center, including a tasty hai todd (crispy mussel pancake) and a deeply aromatic jungle curry thick with vegetables and holy basil.

If you get excited about dining at picnic tables covered in street food, Wat Thai will give you goosebumps. Just remember that it’s cash only and you’ll need to exchange your money for $1-$2 tokens that you’ll use to order food. Ayara Thai is a neighborhood spot in Westchester that happens to be home to some of the best traditional Thai cooking outside of Thai Town. The family-run institution has been cranking out tremendous versions of classics like khao soi and pad see ew for years, and they even sell their own curry kits in case you want to make their recipes at home. It’s nearly impossible to order wrong here (get the plump kai jeaw omelet and Ayara’s toast), but the muay thai wings in particular are a sleeper hit.

Though the six-block area will always be the epicenter of Thai food in LA, incredible restaurants can be found in almost all corners of the city. “I hope that every guest who walks through our doors at Snap Thai Fish House feels transported to the beautiful coast of Thailand through the flavors and atmosphere of our restaurant,” said Lawlertratana. “I hope that every guest who walks through our doors at Snap Thai Fish House feels transported to the beautiful coast of Thailand through the flavors and atmosphere of our restaurant,” quoted Lawlertratana in a statement. They're marinated for maximum flavor, fried naked, then served with a sweet-spicy sauce that takes the dish to a new level. Ayara is mostly a to-go operation, but there’s an outdoor dining shed on the sidewalk if you’re looking to have a sit-down meal. The menu at this blink-and-miss-it spot in the heart of Thai Town has over a dozen types of mortar-pounded som tum on the menu, tossed with things like salted crab, duck eggs, or crispy pork belly. The tangy, sometimes-searing papaya salad here is enough reason to visit, but we might love their other Northeastern Thai (Isaan) dishes even more. There’s raw shrimp dabbed with fiery chile-garlic paste, larb with bits of duck cracklings, and a pungent shrimp paste rice decorated with piles of toppings that might it look like a painter’s palette. The spice levels here get serious in a hurry, but fortunately, Lacha used to be a tea shop in a previous life, which means you can order an Ovaltine mudslide or passion fruit slushie to cool the burn.

Lawlertratana’s passion for high-quality seafood is evident in the fish-market-style section, where guests can choose their fish and preparation. Lawlertratana’s passion for high-quality seafood is evident in the fish-market-style selection, where guests can choose their fish and preparation, all prepared with an interplay of Thai flavors and textures. After starting off as a Thai Town weekend pop-up, Malai Data’s amazing boat noodle soup has found a permanent home just five minutes’ walk from its original location. Step into the bare-bones space for $9 bowls of the best boat noodle soup we’ve ever had.

Even the moo ping, a simple grilled pork skewer appetizer, is marinated and charred so perfectly that it should really be rebranded as candy-on-a-stick. Highlights of the all-day breakfast and lunch menu includes khao kai jiew (Thai ground chicken omelet) rice bowl and the "It's a Joke," Intrachat's signature rice porridge. For a Thai take on your average breakfast skillet, order the kai-kata—a delicious savory blend of fried eggs, lap cheong sausage and ground chicken topped with green onions and served with a side of sliced baguette. Run by the couple behind Ruen Pair next door, this new fusion-style dessert shop in Thai Town serves creamy, not-too-sweet gelato in Asian flavors like candle-smoked salted egg yolk, butterfly pea coconut, tamarind and durian. While you can’t go wrong with a scoop of the Thai iced coffee or Thai tea, our favorite of the bunch is the pandan milk, which offers the lightly grassy, vanilla-like Southeast Asian flavor entombed in a sweet, creamy gelato. For a quirky, ultra-carby treat, order your ice cream wrapped in a Thai-style kanom pang—a hot dog bun topped with coconut jelly, sweet corn, sticky rice, grass jelly and palm seeds.

Located on the outer fringes of North Hollywood, Sri Siam has been around for more than 30 years and is considered royalty among many of the city's veteran Thai cooks. Also, don’t be surprised if your server (i.e., the owner) pulls up a chair next to you and starts chatting—that’s just how things are done here. The grilled beef salad, fully loaded shrimp paste fried rice, and sweet-salty chicken wings are all knock-outs, but the best thing here is the off-the-menu radish cakes. Snap Thai Fish House transports landlocked Atlantans to the coast of Thailand for a seaside Thai dining experience in a stylish and inviting Buckhead setting. Offering a vast selection of fresh seafood, including coldwater lobster, fresh oysters, and more than ten varieties of sustainably caught fish delivered daily from the country’s best suppliers.

The customer service and consistency of the kitchen has also improved in recent months. Would we show up at 4pm for it, though, or resort to booking a table through Dorsia for a $95 per head minimum? Probably not, but if you do manage to get a table, you’ll have an excellent meal.

We also love the earthy, gelatinous gravy of the lard na, and the crunchy-spongy fried shrimp rolls that pop with each bite. Prael has a well-oiled takeout situation, but eating inside their charming dining room adorned with portraits of Thai royalty and Muay Thai posters is definitely worth your time. The sister restaurant of Mid-City’s Chao Krung has a stylish new home on Sawtelle, where second-generation family chef Amanda Kuntee has expanded the menu with vegan-friendly items and Thai street food-inspired small plates. While Hollywood’s Thai Town is an essential dining destination for spice-hunters, greater L.A. Has no shortage of eateries serving some of the best seafood, curries and sinus-clearing stir-fries around.

The restaurant is beautiful, offering indoor and outdoor seating as well as sitting at the bar. From party spots in West Adams to decades-old Valley landmarks, the bar for Thai food is set so high in LA, it’s overwhelming. “I believe that dessert should be a celebration of flavors, just like the rest of the meal. That’s why I put as much thought and care into my desserts as I do my entrees,” quoted Lawlertratana. Situated in the Prominence Apartments’ suddenly booming courtyard, Snap Thai’s massive dining room has an understated aesthetic.

We appreciate a restaurant that calls it like it is, and at Spicy BBQ, you’re going to eat Thai-style barbecue and it’s going to be spicy. But this six-table strip mall spot on the corner Normandie and Santa Monica does a lot more than spareribs and satay—it's also one of our favorite spots for bliss-inducing Northern Thai food. We rarely place an order here without getting the fiery jackfruit salad, savory fried larb patties, delicious chili dips, and a bowl of khao soi that is worth braving even the worst East Hollywood traffic to eat. The curried broth is so rich and gravy-like, we usually order it with silky cubes of tofu, which provide some welcome lightness. Slated to open in late February near Zakia, Snap will serve more than 10 varieties of seafood flown in daily.

The Mid-City staple’s revamped digs have also made it a great option for a casual weekday date or cozy weekend in, and the newer line-up of seasonal specials, like a Northern Thai isaan sausage, is wooing a whole new generation of L.A. Snap Thai Fish House boasts a new open-air patio that seats 40 guests and indoor seating for up to 84 diners. At the restaurant entrance, guests are greeted with a striking hanging fish art piece that was shipped from Thailand. Numerous windows allow a great deal of natural light to flow through the dining room and into the open kitchen.

The indoor/outdoor bar, featuring custom-made fish traps hanging from the ceiling, can accommodate up to 30 guests. Snap Thai Fish House has a new open-air patio that seats 40 guests and indoor seating for up to 84 diners. The open space features bare concrete with gold flaking, with plenty of windows allowing a great deal of natural light to flow through the dining room and into the open kitchen. Sapp Coffee Shop is a straight-up Thai food heaven, serving some of the best Thai boat noodles in L.A. Funky, fragrant and piping hot, the offal-laced soup makes this tiny Thai Town spot destination-worthy in and of itself. The jade noodles are another coveted item, while the Thai iced coffee is, of course, a no-brainer.

Crispy Shrimp Tempura

LA has lots of great street vendors, but few of them put on a show like Rad Na Silom. The stir-fried noodles you’ll find here are among the best in LA, from chewy wide rice noodles smoothed in rad na gravy to a saucy-but-balanced pad thai topped with handfuls of dried shrimp, ground peanuts, and bean sprouts. Everything on their simple eight-dish menu is just $10, and if you’re here Friday through Sunday, make sure to hit the outrageously good Thai boat noodle vendor that sets up on the same block, Mae Malai. Located in a Fashion District food court, this takeout counter in DTLA has a menu full of Thai staples you've probably had before, like pad kee mao and gra pow, plus some you haven't (like yellow curry rigatoni).

Weekend Brunch

For a nighthawk joint, the flavor and quality of the food is amazing, including the tom yum soup and spicy stir-fried morning glory salad. A full list of wine, beer and cocktails makes for a party atmosphere most evenings, as does the nightly line-up of live music acts. This takeout-friendly Thai Town spot specializes in Thai-style Hainan chicken, which includes a warm, comforting bowl of clear broth on the side and flavorful garlic fried rice. Dipped into the homemade chili fish sauce and sprinkled with the chopped ginger available at each table, it's worth savoring each delicious bite. To jazz up your order, you can also order a mix of steamed and fried chicken. We also love the zabb crispy rice—a flavorful mix of rice powder, red onions and your choice of protein (fish, chicken, or pork).

This post is an update of: Details Revealed for Snap Thai Fish House, Opening Soon in Buckhead

Snap Thai Fish House (3699 Lenox Road Northeast) plans to set itself apart by offering an extensive menu focused on seafood, especially lobster. Created by Bangkok Thai owner/chef Pattie Lawlertratrana, who studied in France, and Bangkok Thai partners Jason Adjanasuknart and Yai Siripetamorn, Snap will introduce authentic Thai flavors with a French influence to Buckhead. Under the direction of Chef Pattie Lawlertratana, a large portion of the menu will feature a fish-market style selection, allowing guests to choose from a list of wild-caught fresh fish, how they would like it prepared. Snap Thai Fish House’s drink list features over a dozen specialty cocktails inspired by Thailand, along with a wine list offering 90 bottles with a significant focus on Champagne, Rosé, and sparkling wines to complement the seafood-dominant menu.

When people ask about the best Thai restaurant in LA for any occasion, it’s our natural reflex to blurt out Luv2Eat. Everything about Luv2Eat looks and feels like any other strip mall restaurant in the city, but the food and the warm service stand out. Its greatness lies in the "Chef’s Special" section of the menu, a collection of dishes that showcases the two chefs’ family recipes. The Phuket-style crab curry, for instance, when combined with the fatty crab meat lounging at the bottom, takes sweet, salty, and sour to euphoric levels.

The best Thai restaurants in Los Angeles

Our favorite things here tend to be the slightly unusual twists, like drunken noodles with thick-cut pastrami or the fried chicken sandwiches topped with papaya salad and ranch. But we’d be just as happy with the fatty grilled pork toro and crispy rice salad, too. The Weho and Silver Lake locations are fun, but if we had to pick a favorite, it’d be the slightly cramped, chaotic one in Venice that forces you to let loose over some natural wine—make sure some form of larb hits your table and you’re in for a good time.

Mae Malai Thai House of Noodles

Expect cold-water lobster, both East and West Coast oysters, snapper, Thai crab cakes, prawns, scallops, and more. A “fresh catch” section of the menu will allow diners to select their fish (think Chilean sea bass, branzino, or Dover sole) and pair it with their choice of sauce (ginger soy mushroom, panang curry, etc.). Other menu options include tom yum lobster bisque, lobster fried rice, lobster pad Thai, braised beef short ribs, and prawns and scallops with green curry fettuccine. For weekend brunch, get ready for Thai-style chicken and waffles and Thai seafood omelets. Now with three locations across the city, Night + Market has grown over the past decade from a scrappy make-shift house party of a restaurant to a household name in LA Thai food.

Menu

Either way, the food at Holy Basil features bright and bold flavors that make dishes here taste like you're eating them for the first time. Picking a favorite is like choosing the best Stevie Wonder song, but the tom yum soup is a must-order. Amped up with fish sauce and roasted chili jam, it starts spicy-sour, then finishes sweet like an HBO dramedy series. If you're eating on-site, expect a minimalist set of outdoor tables and stools. Or check out their second location in Atwater Village for a seafood-heavy Thai dinner.

This comically small East Hollywood spot (there are five tiny tables at most) is home to some of the most herbaceous, sinus-clearing food you'll ever have from a steam table—and despite the name, you don't even have to pay for a membership. Sure, you might have to eat your food pressed up against a window next to a stack of newspapers, but that’s just part of the fun at this Northern Thai gem. The sweet, vibrantly orange khao soi is among our favorites in LA, the chile dips with pork rinds and sticky rice are must-gets, and the spicy jackfruit salad actually makes eating a salad at lunch not feel sad. That said, no meal here is complete without at least one order of the sai oua, a spicy pork sausage that’ll stay on your mind—and lips—for the rest of the day. Right next to Jumbo’s Clown Room, this late-night restaurant in Thai Town serves a satisfying meal whether you’re pregaming your night out with some khao mok gai (turmeric chicken rice) or stumbling out of the infamous L.A.

For tasty Chinese doughnuts served with a side of condensed milk, gingery, ultra-silky tofu pudding and comforting bowls of Thai-style rice porridge, you can’t do much better than this longtime all-day restaurant in Thai Town. Arrive before noon and take a seat at one of the dusty pink resin-topped tables and you’ll be treated to a cozy Thai breakfast feast, the likes of which are hard to find almost anywhere else in the city. Long Beach has tons of great Thai spots, from the bare-bones Tasty Food To Go to the more upscale Thai District, but none of them are quite like Chiang Rai, a neon-hued Eastside restaurant that specializes in Northern Thai dishes. And if you decide you just want to stay home and order takeout, Chiang Rai has you covered, too—the kitchen puts as much love into delivery staples like pad thai and pineapple fried rice as they do their Northern-style beef larb.

Featured properties are brought you by Buckhead’s top real estate broker, Ben Hirsh. ‘Snap’ is memorable and reminds us of a fish snapping at the bait,” Lawlertratana explains. I’m from Maryland and every time I’m in Atlanta, it is a must; food and ambiance fantastic 20 out of 20. We don’t have exact figures in front of us, but we’d guess that Buckhead has one of the highest rates of Thai restaurants per capita in the South. Even knowing that totally legit stat (that we absolutely didn't just make up), Snap Thai Fish House, one of the city’s best new entries, was plopped right on the corner of Lenox and Piedmont roads. Be among the first to be invited to our events, receive exclusive offers, and more.

There’s a fish art installation dangling above the reception stand, but the nautical theme isn’t heavy-handed. If you're on an awkward first date, you can stare endlessly at the knotted ropes falling from the ceiling and if you're here under less stressful conditions, you'll appreciate the space’s soft tans, polished golds, and tons of natural light. When it comes to Thai food, no city in America has it better than Los Angeles. After all, Southern California is home to the largest Thai population outside of Thailand and East Hollywood’s Thai Town is the only officially designated neighborhood of its kind in the country.

You could probably drive past this tiny spot in Thai Town 100 times and miss it, but if you did, it would be a tragedy on par with the ending of Titanic. The star of the show here is undoubtedly their khao soi, which is ultra-creamy, slightly sweet, and filled with bright punches of flavor that will wow you even before you squeeze the lime over the top. Along with those signature curried noodles, we gravitate toward their fragrant Northern Thai sausage, sauce-covered spicy shrimp balls, or braised pork leg over rice—all simple, no-frills comfort foods. If you're in need of a quick, hearty lunch or just a pick-me-up after a long week, a meal in Pailin's colorful, kitschy dining room is the right prescription. When we want a party experience in restaurant form, Farmhouse Kitchen in West Adams is the answer. This colorful, kitschy Thai spot came to LA from the Bay Area, bringing over-the-top cocktails and group-sized entrees to a space decked out with artificial plants and bright pink flowers.

To complement the seafood-filled menu, Snap will offer a large selection of sparkling wines. Adjansuknart is a “whisky enthusiast,” so a sizable scotch and whisky selection is expected. Cocktails will feature Thai-inspired ingredients, such as pineapple, coconut, lychee, and lime. Snap Thai Fish House, the new Thai-inspired seafood restaurant located at 3699 Lenox Rd NE, Suite 5, Atlanta, GA opened on Monday, May 1st, 2023. The restaurant recently completed a successful soft opening phase, which offered a limited cocktail, wine, and food menu. The restaurant expanded its hours on May 1st and launched a more extensive menu for guests to enjoy.

For a warm, light meal, order the jim jum, or Thai hot pot, which uses a lemongrass-rich broth as a base for vegetables, meats and mixed seafood. Since transitioning from street vendor to brick-and-mortar, Mai Malai serves a much bigger menu featuring crispy shrimp omelets, pad thai, and housemade Northern Thai sausage full of fragrant lemongrass. That being said, you’re still coming here for the boat noodles, which are some of the best in Los Angeles. For roughly $9, you’re served a small cup of chewy rice noodles, juicy pork meatballs, and crunchy pork rinds with an intensely sharp, spicy, and sour broth. There’s a slight offal funk swimming in this soup, too, but it's cut with fish sauce, lots of herbs, and sweet basil. Just know that when we say this soup is spicy, it ranges from mild (spicy) to Thai spicy (heart palpitations), so trust your gut.

2023-2024 University of North Carolina at Charlotte

At age 36, Friday was named acting president of the UNC system. During his tenure, he became recognized as one of America’s most respected and effective educational leaders. In 1972, he reorganized the entire system which had grown to include 16 campuses (now 17 after the addition of the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics). At the time of its dedication on May 23, 1996, the 162,000-square-foot facility was the largest academic structure on campus.

The Campus

When Kennedy Building first opened, it housed science laboratories (chemistry, physics, biology and geology), as well as labs for a variety of engineering courses. There were 10 classrooms, 12 faculty offices and a lecture room with elevated seating for 100. The building also served as a temporary library; its first floor contained 18,000 volumes while Atkins Library was being built. A national leader in education, Fretwell became UNC Charlotte’s second chancellor in January 1979. At the time, the University’s enrollment was around 8,700 students. By his retirement in June 1989, UNC Charlotte’s enrollment topped 13,000.

In general a good hotel, located near the central area of London but at the same time in a quiet area. Renovated, clean and comfortable rooms. One room was a good size, but the other was a little small. The welcome when we arrived was brilliant, the staff were so friendly and helpful, we got a mini tour of the hotel and the concierge took our bags to our room.

The university has "long-standing protocols that allow for peaceful protesting" and has been working with the school community to ensure they are followed during the school year, Folt said. Columbia University's senate voted in favor of a resolution to create a task force to investigate the university leadership's handling of Pro-Palestinian protests on campus, according to documents obtained by CNN. In response to a pro-Palestinian demonstration on the University of California Los Angeles campus on Thursday, pro-Israeli supporters counter-protested the cause as universities across the U.S. face unrest due to the anti-war movement. Johnson's visit to the campus further elevates the issue, and marks the latest in a series of visits from lawmakers this week. Every Republican member of New York's congressional delegation has called for Columbia's president to resign.

How is my order processed?

The dynamic gained steam in December, when a group of university presidents testified before a congressional committee. Rep. Elise Stefanik, the GOP conference chair, pressed the administrators at the hearing on how they have handled antisemitic incidents on their campuses. Lawmakers who supported the aid have been among targets of the protesters. In Brooklyn, police made arrests for disorderly conduct late Tuesday during a street protest near the residence of Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the majority leader. Meanwhile, police arrested protesters Wednesday at the University of Southern California campus, which closed to the public Wednesday amid clashes between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and authorities at the school and nationwide.

Negotiations between protesters and Columbia University officials about clearing the encampment on its lawn that had been extended for 48 hours have been “unstable," said Esha Karam, managing director of Columbia Daily Spectator, citing student organizers. Weyburn Terrace is located just southwest of the campus in Westwood Village. The other four are roughly five miles south of UCLA in Palms and Mar Vista. They too vary in pricing and privacy.[195] Approximately 400 students live at the University Cooperative Housing Association, located two blocks off campus.[196] Students who are involved in Greek life have the option to also live in Greek housing while at UCLA. Sorority houses are located east of campus on Hilgard Avenue, and fraternity houses are located west of campus throughout Westwood Village. What We Know About the Protests at Columbia University

The announcement Friday afternoon came as protests escalated at the school’s campus in Los Angeles after school officials canceled an address by the student, Asna Tabassum, following complaints by a pro-Israel group that she had engaged in antisemitism in social media posts. The campus is located near prominent entertainment venues such as the Getty Center, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Santa Monica Pier. Students and staff participate in dinghy sailing, surfing, windsurfing, rowing, and kayaking at the UCLA Marina Aquatic Center in Marina del Rey.

The encampment was timed with the upcoming congressional testimony of Columbia president Minouche Shafik that was taking place that day on the university’s response to antisemitism. Joshua Adams planned to return to USC’s campus next year with his family to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of receiving his master’s degree in journalism. He called the university’s recent decisions to limit free speech “upsetting” and said he hoped alumni voices would help sway administrators. The USC controversy ignited April 15 when officials said the 2024 valedictorian, who has publicly supported Palestinians, could not make a commencement speech, citing nonspecific security concerns for their rare decision. Days later, USC scrapped the keynote speech by filmmaker Jon M. Chu — a 2003 graduate of the university — and said it would not confer honorary degrees.

The University of Southern California needed to "act immediately to protect our community" when it came to protests on campus this week, school president Carol L. Folt said in a statement. Throughout the week, several schools called police on protesters, leading to the arrests of hundreds across the country. Protesters have demanded schools divest campus funds from entities connected to Israel.

Before the school issued the statement, Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine said administrators threatened to bring in police and the National Guard if protesters did not comply with their demands. "We remain steadfast in our convictions and will not be intimidated by the University's disturbing threat of an escalation of violence," the group said in a statement. ∎ California's Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata will be closed Wednesday after pro-Palestinian protesters occupied a campus building, the school announced.
